Step 1: Study Materials

- The online study material includes practice quizzes specified to individual topics, as well as a full simulated exam that you can take.
- If you live in a state that requires pre-licensing, you are responsible for enrolling in that course and paying those additional fees.
- Use the study videos found in Youtube playlist that CSF had provided for you to study particular subjects.
Step 2: Take Exam
How to Register & Schedule the Test:

In most states, the exam will consist of 80 multiple choice questions. You will have two hours to finish the test, and a passing score is anything 70% or above.
Step 3: After passing the Exam
After you’ve passed the exam (Listed in Order):
- The license application through the state can be accessed through https://www.sircon.com/landingPages/states/utah/content.jsp
Click “Apply for a license”, then “New Insurance License”, then “Resident”, then “Individual”, and continue. Fill out the application with your information as requested, and pay the fee of $112 to apply for the license in your state.
- After the application has been submitted, return to the testing center where you passed your test, to have your fingerprinting taken care of by the proctors. The fingerprinting should cost $25 to complete.
- Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance will be required for all new licensed agents. This can be set up through the Common Sense Financial website. Login into your portal, Mouse over “Agent Resources” and click on “Life Information”. The third item listed on the page shows the link to pay for the E&O Insurance coverage.
- An Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Course is then required. The link to the website can be found on the same page as the E&O Insurance listed above. There are a couple different websites that this training can be done through. For an example, the cost of the AML course through webce.com is $9.95.
- (Once your license is approved through your state) Getting Appointed with our partnered Insurance & Investment Companies can be accessed through the back office of your Common Sense Financial Website. Login, and under “Agent Resources”, then “Life Information”, scroll to Appointment Process and click the link provided, which will take you to Surancebay.com , which will keep all your licenses and appointments organized in one portal. Through the SuranceBay website, select the tab “For Producers” and then “Login to SureLC”, where you’ll be able to fill out your information and answer questions that will be sent out as your application to the companies to be appointed with, upload licenses, E&O Insurance Certificates, and eventually apply & purchase non-resident licenses for the states you’re writing business in outside of state in which you reside.
